Feeding America mission is to feed America’s hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks and engage our country in the fight to end hunger.
It is an organization that is trying to empower people to end food hunger in our nation. They have numerous partnerships throughout the nation all work together with Feeding America to meet their goal of ending hunger. They provide many resources and information about food hunger and different ways that people can donate food or money donations to provide people with meals. Not only do they provide resources about food hunger, but one can look up where there is a local food bank that works specifically with Feeding America in their community. Not only do they work on the goal of ending hunger, but they also advocate for food safety, food recovery, and informing people about nutritious foods.
Since Feeding America is working on ending hunger in our nation. One can partner with Feeding America in many ways. There are multiple resources for teachers and students to learn about hunger in our nation. Under the “take action” tab, one can have students decide what kind of action they would like to take in their communities. For younger grades they can learn about the services and goods of volunteering or hosting their own food drive. As for the older grades, they have a campaign to tell congress how the government can help people in our community to provide people with healthy meals. Overall, it provides great stats and information to start conversation about food insecurity.
