The purpose of Support Our Troops is to provide an easy access framework that allows individuals, local groups, schools, and churches, etc. to quickly and without complexity do good works for troops and their families. Support Our Troops takes donations, letters, and care packages and delivers them to troops and their families. They are an organization, whose goal is to give back to troops and thank them for their great sacrifice.
Everyday brave men and women make the choice to join the military. Support Our Troops is a great organization that wants to help give back to those brave heroes. They do this by taking donations, sending letters, delivering care packages, etc. and delivering them to troops and their families. Their website is really easy to navigate and it makes donating or doing anything else easy to accomplish. Teachers should consider partnering with Support Our Troops, because it is such a great organization. Teachers can explain to students the great sacrifices that these heroes make and it is a very simple way for students to show their thanks and support.
There are many ways to partner with Support Our Troops. At my own placement, I had my students (5th grade) write thank you letters and draw pictures to show their support. I then put them in a big envelope and mailed them to the address on the website. However, teachers could have their students gathers supplies to put in a care package. A class could do a fundraiser and raise money to donate. If students wanted to they could make a donation with their families or even churches. The number of ways to donate and support are endless.
