This year's ceremonies will honor graduates from Fall 2023 through Summer 2024. Students who are graduating in Fall 2024 are welcome to attend, but please note that your name will not be in the program until next year.

COVID-19 and safety protocols are subject to change. EWU and the Spokane Facilities District are continually evaluating safety protocols and will follow state and public health guidelines with regard to COVID-19.

Students in quarter-based programs can attend one of the ceremonies on Saturday, June 15, 2024.
Students in the semester-based programs can attend either the Spokane Campus Ceremony on Friday, May 3, 2024, or the All Campuses Ceremonies on Saturday, June 15, 2024.
All graduates participating in the ceremony are expected to wear the appropriate academic cap and gown. The EWU Eagle Store will have caps and gowns available for purchase both in the store and online.
You can now pre-order leis and flower bouquets from The Commencement Group for your graduate! All online orders will be available for pickup on Commencement Day at the ceremony venue.
EWU expects all students participating in the commencement ceremonies to wear their cap and gown.
You can certainly decorate your cap! Please follow these rules when decorating your cap:
- No offensive language, sayings, nicknames, pictures, or lyrics on the cap.
- All decorations MUST lay FLAT on the cap.
The 2024 Grad Fair is scheduled for:
- Cheney Campus: EWU Eagle Store, TBD on February 26-27, 2024
- Spokane Campus: EWU Catalyst Building, TBD on February 28-29, 2024
Grad Fair is the Eagle Store's kick-off for graduation merchandise. It is an opportunity to take professional graduation photos and order your cap and gown, graduation announcements, and other graduation items. Graduation regalia is available for purchase in-store starting in mid-February 2024.
Tickets are not required for any of the ceremonies. Doors open for seating about one hour prior to the ceremony. The recommended guest limit is five.

American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation will be conducted during the ceremony.
Students needing accommodations to participate in the graduation ceremonies should contact EWU Student Accommodations and Support Services at sass@ewu.edu or 509.359.6871 at least a week prior to the event.
Doors open one hour prior to each ceremony.
Graduating seniors who had earned GPAs in the ranges below will receive the corresponding academic honors:
4.0 and 3.9 = Summa Cum Laude
3.89 and 3.7 = Magna Cum Laude
3.69 and 3.5 = Cum Laude
Graduating seniors will be formally recognized during commencement, on university transcripts, and on their diplomas. Additional information about honors can be found in the University Catalog.

No. The May ceremony is for semester-based programs only.
Doors will open for guests to each venue approximately one hour prior to the ceremony. Students should plan to arrive 30-60 minutes prior to the ceremony for line-up.

Diplomas are not distributed at commencement.
After verification that all degree requirements have been completed, undergraduate diplomas will be mailed from the Records and Registration Office approximately six weeks after the end of the term. Graduate diplomas will be mailed from the Graduate Studies Office approximately six weeks after graduation.
If you have a change of address, please update your Diploma Mailing Address on EagleNET immediately!
Please note that your diploma will not be mailed until all financial obligations are cleared with the university.
