Q: What is an AHEC?
A. AHEC is Area Health Education Center. AHEC is a national movement, and there are AHEC centers in 46 of the 50 states, plus Washington, DC.
Q: What do you do?
A: The EWAHEC has three main goals: supporting the Rural Underserved Opportunities Program, working to build a pipeline of youth from rural areas into health care careers, and supporting the continuing education needs of rural health clinic providers in eastern Washington.

A: AHEC is funded by grants from the Washington State Department of Health and the University of Washington School of Medicine.
