Financial Peer Mentoring
All of our mentors are trained Certified Financial Peer Mentors and have passed a rigorous exam through Fincert, a division of the Institute for Financial Literacy.
Sessions are student-driven. Mentors will discuss your current financial needs and goals, and take you through a guided financial education curriculum.

The Financial Wellness Program aligns with The Student Success Collaborative’s philosophy of providing the right services by the right person at the right time, as these individualized services are tailored to each student’s needs. The FWP team accomplishes this by making certified Financial Peer Mentors available for one-on-one mentoring. The peer mentors aim to work with students to increase their financial literacy and provide guidance in practical application.
Everfi: Free, Easy, and Accessible Financial Training
Everfi is a free resource with comprehensive sessions on financial topics. EWU students and faculty (and families) can access Everfi lessons for free at any time. If you meet with our mentors, we can also walk through this material with you and help you navigate your financial learning journey.
Let us help you learn about:
Financial Literacy
The first step to becoming financially sound is having a confident understanding of concepts including saving, budgeting, and managing debt that lead to an overall sense of financial well-being. We are here to help you gain an understanding of financial topics and show you how to put what you learn into practice.
Explore Ways to Pay for College
How to pay for college is something many students worry about. We can help you understand the different options. While we cannot advise you on what choices to make for yourself or your student account, you can feel better prepared to make those choices when you are armed with information.
Future Planning
What happens after you graduate? Planting your feet on the right path after graduation can have a positive impact on your financial future. We will help you understand, in a general way, what you can expect and help you set goals that make sense for a new college graduate.
Campus Partners
Financial Aid
For eligible students, financial aid can be a great way to help pay for college. There are many different options available ranging from federal aid, grants, loans, and scholarships. Our peer mentors can help get you up to speed about what each is and how to apply.
Student Financial Services
The Student Financial Services Office assists students and families with making payments for tuition, refunding excess financial aid, setting up direct deposit, and answering billing questions. They also offer assistance with third party reimbursements and guaranteed tuition plans.
