Hello EWU, I am thrilled to join you as a Graduate Student Program Assistant, focusing on financial wellness. My journey in finance and wellness began with my own experiences navigating the complexities of financial management as a student. In this role, I’m committed to employing a blend of human talent, clear processes, and advanced technology to support our university’s financial wellness goals. I’m particularly excited about participating as a peer coach, where I’ll have the opportunity to work directly with you – our students – in understanding and overcoming financial challenges. Beyond the numbers, I believe in creating an inclusive and supportive environment where all students feel empowered to take control of their financial futures. My goal is to empower you with the tools and knowledge to make informed financial decisions, fostering a sense of financial confidence and well-being.
Looking forward to making a positive impact and learning alongside all of you!

I love hearing people’s story and learning what is important to them. I don’t think there is one right answer for financial decisions, every person can create a plan that works best for them. I was in the Army for 25 years and dealt with many financial problems of the Soldiers I worked with. After I left the Army, I worked as a Financial Advisor. I have a Master of Aeronautical Science; I am an Accredited Asset Management Specialist from the College for Financial Planning, and I am an Accredited Financial Counselor from the Association for Financial Counseling & Planning Education.
Kyah Weikum
My name is Kyah Weikum. I am a senior here at EWU majoring in Economics and minoring in Accounting. I transferred to Eastern after receiving my Associate’s degree in 2022. I know how difficult it can be to juggle finances with all the other challenges of life as a college student. I am grateful for the opportunity to help other students improve their financial literacy. I look forward to creating an environment where Eagles can gain knowledge and prepare themselves for life after EWU. I believe this support system can be a very important tool for building financial skills to last a lifetime.
