Quantitative and Symbolic Reasoning

Quantitative and Symbolic Reasoning replaces Math Proficiency in EWU’s new General Education Curriculum. The Student Learning Outcomes for courses that fulfill EWU’s Quantitative and Symbolic Reasoning requirement were developed by an interdisciplinary team of faculty from the Natural and Social Sciences and Humanities. Courses seeking approval as Quantitative and Symbolic Reasoning (QSR) courses must be 100-level and address all of the Student Learning Outcomes linked below. Faculty developing new QSR courses or adapting existing courses are strongly encouraged to read the “Explanatory Document” linked below, prior to submitting their courses.

Prerequisites

Prerequisites are course-specific, assuring that a student is prepared for success in that particular QSR course; for example, an ALEKS placement score of 41 or higher.
