The 3 Be’s is a tool that is used to remind students of the rules that should be followed in the classroom. They encourage students to become independent learners as they make good choices throughout the day.
Afternoon check out is when students meet together before leaving school for the day. This check out is meant to discuss how we felt during the day, how we felt the class did behavior wise and how we feel on the new material we learned today.
This procedure is a system to help reduce traffic jams in the closest, especially during the winter months when students have lots of snow gear. Students come in from outside and first go to their desks. At their desks, they take off their coats and any snow gear. Then they go to the closest to put up their things.
This is a fun quick brain break. The button plays one of the five 30-second songs. Once the music plays, everyone gets up and dances.
A list of observable and measurable behaviors which are recorded by a teacher. Usually as a last resort to communicate the behavior frequency with parents and administration.
This tool is rewarding students for positive behaviors throughout the months. They get “paid” with points for exceptional choices and can use their points to buy stuff from the end of month store. This helps prevent negative behaviors and encourages students to make good choices.
The bell is near the teacher and when the teacher rings the bell, students will know to finish their last thought and to turn their voices off and keep their hands in their lap. This is helpful because it will ideally make transitions flow easier.
This tool is a jar located somewhere in the classroom where students can write down something they wish their teacher(s) knew about them. This allows the teacher to understand why their student(s) may be struggling and what the teacher can do to help fix it.
When you notice groups of students staying on task or not you can add or remove points. If they reach a certain amount they get a small celebration reward.
“I’m so proud of you” stamp is a tool that can be used during the supportive phase to actively encourage student’s efforts and participation. One awesome way to do this is by customizing the stamp to say the teachers name, i.e; “Mrs. K is so proud of you!”
