The Office of Grant and Research Development (OGRD) partners with faculty and staff to ensure proper submission of all proposals for external funding. The OGRD manages the processing of all grant and contract agreements, provides tools and oversight for award management and ensures compliance with all federal, state, and university regulations, policies and procedures.

OGRD's vision is to create a culture where grant-seekers and project directors feel confident and supported in a community of peers. Our mission is to inspire, support, and supply EWU faculty and staff with the tools to pursue grants and research as a community of practice.

OGRD Events

In the past year, did you apply for and fail to be awarded a grant? Have you been looking for a funding opportunity, but just cannot seem to find that one true connection? Did you think you found 'the one' and get ghosted? We know it's hard out there; "lots of sea, no fish," a cynical person probably once said.

Realizing there is quite a large group of us experiencing unrequited love and missed connections, the Office of Grant & Research Development has announced its first annual CFR (Call for Rejects)—an invitation to its Heartbreakers Party   February 14, 2024, from 1-4 p.m. in Showalter 210 (OGRD office). Valentine's Day is our chance to reclaim this day and celebrate all the efforts taken by grant hopefuls. We heart you!

Okay, we can't forget about all you lovers out there. If you have been awarded a grant, you are also welcome. In fact, EVERYONE is welcome. This open house is a chance to meet our new OGRD team, discuss strategies to (re)apply for grants, and learn about new OGRD programming in 2024. Refreshments will be provided and there may be a piñata.
