About

What is Q-Camp?

This first annual Q-Camp intends to serve as a day-long program bringing queer students and their allies to campus and the Spokane area to build a sense of belonging and start off their first year at Eastern with a strong support network!

Our program includes one-on-one personal connections with a professional staff, faculty, as well as current students and community members. We are committed to making sure our first year LGBTQ+ students know they are valued members of our Eagle Family!

When is it?

Q-Camp begins just after on-campus housing move-in days, to give students some time to manage all their big new changes! It begins Friday, September 15.

How much does it cost?

Thanks to generous donors, volunteers, and campus partners, Q-Camp 2023 is FREE OF CHARGE! Q-Camp is hosted by the Pride Center and is supported by many campus partners in order to subsidize the cost of meals, swag items, activities, tours, and all supplies.

What will I get out of being in Q-Camp?

  • Learn how to engage in self-advocacy
  • Connect with LGBTQ+ staff and faculty on the EWU campus
  • Build relationships with other queer students
  • Gain a sense of belonging to the EWU community
  • Navigate on-campus support services

This program would not be possible without the support of our dedicated partners across campus. We encourage you to get to know each of these units and the amazing staff who work in each department. Thank you: Housing & Residential Life, the Multicultural Center, Admissions and the Office for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion.
