The Veteran Resource Center provides critical support to over 600 student veterans attending EWU by providing assistance with enrollment, advising, veteran's benefits, and advocacy. We support veterans, active duty, National Guard & Reserve; along with spouses and dependents.
The Veterans Resource Center has launched the “Veterans Reflective Space Project”. The overall concept draws a parallel between a veteran’s service life and academic life, honoring their sacrifices, resolve, and contributions. Our reflective space is a circular design that will present visitors with three curved walls of varying heights, with a fourth lower wall offering a bench for seating. The Veterans Reflective Space at EWU will recognize the duality of the warrior and the scholar. EWU’s intention is that the space will be a beautiful, peaceful, and welcoming place for our veterans, while reminding the entire academic community of our responsibility to recognize their sacrifice, honor their service, and support their transition.
Left sloping wall bears bronze sculptural relief panel that speaks to the process of becoming a warrior, defender and protector.
The site will be located towards the North doors of Showalter Hall in the green space between Showalter Hall and Kingston/Senior Halls.
Tallest wall reserved for a reflective quotation, serving as the vehicle through which visitors can pause, ask questions and remember.
Right sloping wall bears bronze sculptural relief panel with figures that speak of the journey one undertakes as a student.
