Running for Office

The ASEWU President works closely with the EWU Board of Trustees, and the University President and their cabinet to advocate for and address the needs of EWU students.

• Responsibilities of the President

The Executive Vice President is responsible for all administrative matters of the ASEWU Council. They chair all ASEWU Council meetings and work sessions, prepare the agendas for each meeting, and chair the PUB Board meetings.

• Responsibilities of the Executive Vice President

The Finance Vice President is responsible for all financial matters of the ASEWU. They chair the ASEWU Finance committee, seek to be chair of the Service and Activities Fee Committee, attend the Student Transportation Fee Committee, Student Technology Fee Committee, and the University Budget Committee.

• Responsibilities of the Finance Vice President

This representative is responsible for advocating and addressing the academic matters of students. They work with the Academic Senate, Undergraduate Affairs Council, Rules Committee, Learning Commons, and the Faculty President.

• Responsibilities of the Academic Affairs Representative

This representative is responsible for athletic and university advancement matters. They work with with the athletics department, campus recreation, career services, University Recreation Center, Alumni Association, and the Vice President of University Advancement.

• Responsibilities of the Athletic Affairs and University Advancement Representative

This representative is responsible for all matters of diversity for students. They work with the Multicultural Center, Veterans Resource Center, Africana Studies, Chicana/o/x Studies, American Indian Studies, and other departments on campus.

• Responsibilities of the Diversity Outreach Representative

This representative is responsible for matters related to graduate student. They work with the EWU Spokane Student Services, the Graduate Affairs Council, and act as the EWU Spokane Liaison for all students to the ASEWU.

• Responsibilities of the Graduate Affairs Representative

The primary responsibility of the representative is to communicate with administration, faculty, staff, the city of Cheney and legislators in Olympia regarding issues and policies pertaining to students.

• Responsibilities of the Legislative Affairs Representative

This representative is responsible for matters related to student organizations. They work with Student Engagement and Recreation to host student organization meetings that provide valuable information to the students regarding functions, funding and meeting requirements for student organizations.

• Responsibilities of the Student Activities Representative

This representative is responsible for matters related to the safety and health of students. They work with EWU Campus Police,  Health, Wellness, and Prevention Services, Student Accommodations and Support Services, Counseling and Wellness Services, Student Rights and Responsibilities, and Student Support and Advocacy.

• Responsibilities of the Student Health and Safety Services Representative

This representative is responsible for matters of services provided to students by EWU. They work with dining services, parking, child care services, transportation, financial aid, and Housing and Residential Life.

• Responsibilities of the Student Services Representative

This representative is responsible for matters of technology provided to students as well as advocating for international students with administrators. They work with Technical Support Services and library circulation desk.
