A native Washingtonian, I began work as a Longshoreman and a Teamster in Seattle and Bellingham. After earning the PhD back east, I am grateful to have returned home.
Grateful also to cherish the teaching, the students that make classes rewarding, and the support for public research and writing.
As a writer I am interested chiefly in the environmental humanities, more particularly in how creative writing and culture studies may nourish one another.
