Title IX

Information, Resources & Services for the EWU Community

Eastern Washington University is dedicated to providing a campus community free from discrimination and sexual misconduct.

What is Title IX?

Title IX is a federal law that states: No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.

How does Title IX apply to me?

Title IX protects university students, employees, and program participants from discrimination on the basis of sex/gender, sexual orientation, and gender identity/expression.  This includes prohibitions against sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. In addition, Title IX also provides support to pregnant and parenting students.  The links below provide more details about reporting, resources, and support regarding some of the more common Title IX issues.
