Due to COVID-19, students working to earn recreation and leisure services degrees are losing out on valuable, practical experiences. These opportunities help students share knowledge about their studies with community members and participants. To ensure EWU students get the experiential learning they need to be successful job candidates after graduation, the program is working to replace those in-person experiences with a virtual leisure buddy program.
Recreation and Leisure Services is looking for community participants who would like to participate. Whether your recreation interests are outdoor, indoor, specialized or more scholarly, they’ll match you with students who share your passion. If you don’t have something specific in mind, let them know and they’ll connect you with a student and ask you to complete a few surveys that will help you learn something new about yourself and maybe even help you gain a new hobby!
