In light of the recent events sweeping the nation and world surrounding the killing of George Floyd, Eastern Washington University’s Africana Studies program will host an important virtual open forum this Friday.
Following the killing of George Floyd and the nationwide outcry for justice and change, the leaders of Spokane’s institutions of higher education came together to share a message to the community.
Since 1994, EWU and Mukogawa Women’s University in Nishinomiya, Japan, have exchanged professors for one week of teaching. Unfortunately, the 2020 exchange was postponed due to COVID-19, however, EWU has rescheduled the trip and moved forward with the 2021 and 2022 nominations.
As president and leaders of Eastern Washington University, we are outraged and overwhelmingly appalled by the tragic event of George Floyd’s death.
Students in a new gardening club were eager to get their hands dirty and the EWU Community Garden was on track to cultivate a great crop this year. When the COVID-19 pandemic forced a change of plans, one dedicated employee kept things growing.
