Even though he has the interim tag on his title as EWU president, David May has a very solid handle on how he’d like to see the university navigate the next year and beyond.
Starting a new job during a pandemic is not exactly ideal. But Eastern Washington University’s new interim president, David May, is eager to face the challenges ahead to ensure EWU remains Eagle Strong.
In elevating May from his current position as EWU’s provost and vice president for academic affairs, the Board of Trustees said it was important to maintain continuity. May spearheaded the university’s approach to ensuring student success and safety during the pandemic, and has been instrumental in working with faculty on the current academic reorganization of colleges.
