Throughout the summer, EWU Parking and Transportation Services will be removing coin-paid meters along Washington, Elm and 5th Streets — as well as all of the meters within the campus parking lots. The new meters will only use the PayByPhone system.
The PayByPhone app lets you pay for parking in seconds. It is completely cashless, reminds you when your parking session is about to expire, and lets you extend your parking time from anywhere. The app is available for iOS and Android devices. To pay without the app, motorists can call the 800-number shown on the meter.
When you park, officials advise that you know your license plate number and what “zone” you are paying for––zones are clearly marked on the meter. Enforcement uses both the zone and the plate to identify payments made.
Work to replace the meters starts in late June. Meters will be out of service as they are replaced, but signs will be in place. If you have any questions, please contact Parking and Transportation Services at 359-7275. There are also instructions and links available on their website.
