PUB Receives Civic Design Award

Eastern Washington University and the Pence Union Building (PUB) recently received a citation award from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Washington Council. The award honors “design excellence in publicly funded projects located in Washington State.”

Eleven other projects were honored with a civic design award. The awards highlighted projects with the highest standards in sustainability, innovation, building performance and overall integration with the client and surrounding communities. Specifically, the judges emphasized the successful face of the PUB and the auditorium staircase that “integrated the life of the whole building.”
