Eastern’s University Advancement unit is partnering two of its highest performing teams and leaders together to create the division of University Relations. The division, which brings the Office of Alumni Relations and the Office of Marketing and Communications together, will continue to be part of the University Advancement unit.
“This alignment brings an integrated and unified approach to creating and fostering relationships beyond campus to further the mission and strategic priorities of Eastern Washington University,” says Barb Richey, the vice president and executive director of EWU University Advancement and the EWU Foundation. “Merging these teams together allows for stronger collaboration and prepares us for a strong future.”
Having served as alumni relations director for just over two years, Lisa Cargill has already breathed new life into the operation and is charting a new course for alumni outreach and engagement. Now, she will report to Lance Kissler, associate vice president of University Relations, who has served as the AVP for Strategic Communications and Marketing over the past two years, and has been building a new brand marketing and communications strategy for the university. Sam Buzby, director of marketing, and Dave Meany, director of communications and media relations, will continue in their director roles in the unit.
University Relations is located in Hargreaves Hall.
