With lab work being a critical component of her lesson plan, EWU Biology Professor Joanna Matos knew she had to think fast to provide students with an alternative when the pandemic forced classes online this spring.

EWU has made the decision to delay the start of spring quarter by one week, to April 6. Spring semester will also resume April 6. This will allow students, faculty and staff more time to prepare for the start of the term and increase opportunities to “flatten the curve.”
The EWU Recreation Center (URC) is the host venue as Spokane welcomes the USA Curling National Championships, Feb. 8-15. The weeklong competition will feature the nation’s top men’s and women’s teams vying for a spot on Team USA and a berth in the subsequent World Curling Championships.
